A Holiday Hello

Hi crafty friends.
I can't believe it is December 18th already. Yikes.
I hope you are spending lots of time with family and friends.

I have been focusing on getting healthier AND it is working.
So far I have LOST 25 pounds.
Believe it or not it is mostly due to Pokemon Go.
Yes you heard that right. LOL
Pokemon Go is a game you can download on your phone and play for free.
It encourages you to go out and catch little Poke creatures.
You can hatch eggs by walking 2 km, 5 km or 10 km.
That is my favorite part. I love to see what comes out.
It is like opening a fun little present.
My husband and go walking before work everyday
and I do more walking after work before it gets dark.
Then a lot of times after dinner we walk the mall near us.
Yup that's a lot of walking but the results are lost weight
and I'm feeling much better.
So my after work crafting time has been replaced for now with exercise time.

And as many of you know my job changed up a bit this year.
I'm doing a new reading program with my small support groups.
These wonderful people come up with new and improved programs
for us to use but think nothing of the time it takes to prepare for them.
I've been putting a ton of time and work on preparing
what is needed for working with my students.
In the end it is SOOOO worth it but time consuming just the same.

I used to craft during my lunch and other breaks
but now I just relax or go out for a walk.

Wow are you still with me?
Sorry about all that I have just been
feeling REALLY guilty about not crafting or blogging.
Something just had to give.
My students need me to be at my best.
AND my health needed to take a front seat.

Have a wonderful holiday season.
Spend lots of time with those you love and take care of yourself.

Hugs,
Dawn

Just a little hello {and update}

Hey everyone I hope all is well.

School has been back in for almost a month now. Time flies.
I moved classrooms again this year {fourth move in four years...}
The first week of school our principal told me we may need to
give up our room to add a new first grade if the numbers kept climbing.
So I've been living out of boxes and my classroom is a cluttered mess... UGH!
Hopefully we find out this week if we get to keep it or not.
It is the last room available so I'm not sure where we will go from here but...
Then it's time to unpack and get ready to work with students.
I work with small reading and math groups to help give some
of our students that little extra boost they need to succeed.
We are just finishing up school wide reading and math assessments.

I have been focusing on my health this year.
I gained a ton of weight last year being sick so much.
So far I've lost 15 pounds.
I have a ways to go to get to my {and my doctor's}
target number but I'm going to keep at it.

Walking and exercise has taken the place of my crafting and
computer time so if I haven't visited your blog in a while that is why.

Thanks so much for understanding and hanging with me.
Once things settle down at work I hope to get
back to at least crafting on my breaks.

Hugs,
Dawn

Birthday Card ~ For Mom

I've been working 11 hour days so by the time
I get home I'm too tired to do much of anything.
I had a little energy {and time} to craft so happily

I used Miss Emma's sketch from over at My Creative Time for inspiration.
I just flipped it upside down.
I added pink Wink of Stella over my large Copic colored flower.

Thank You Card ~ Thanks {3rd Post}

I created this card to drop off at our local police station.
Things have been so tense around the US.
We are lucky to have the best police protection here.
I just wanted to show them we appreciate all they do to protect us.
I changed things up a bit for this card.
First I die cut the sentiment from my foil front.
Next I die cut the sentiment from white card stock.
I placed them all together and embossed them.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Sentiment cut using the Many Thanks die set from My Favorite Things.
*Design paper from the 6x6 Foiled Cardstock paper pad frpm DCWV.
*Embossed using the Cuttlebug Skyward Set folder from Provo Craft.

May your day always be filled with love and laughter.
